What to buy the Alpha Male this Xmas?!

Alpha Male Xmas Prezzies
I much prefer buying for girls then guys but I have a boyfriend, a brother, a dad, mum’s boyfriend and 2 nephews!!! Therefore I have LOTS of experience on buying for guys. To help you out, I’ve put a few bits together so your male counter-part are fulfilled this Christmas 😉
My boyfriend LOVES Clinique skin supplies for man. He’s tried lots of different products but this is his favorite. The scrub is super grainy and I like how the packaging looks too. You can get these in Boots here
A decent watch doesn’t go down a miss; I think Casio and Timex do some cool ones.
My boyfriend is always borrowing and trailing my ever so expensive products that he wont just buy himself, well, because is not really manly enough and he can just waste mine instead!! So I fished these little beauties out… Manly lip balm and hand cream. Check out Jack Blacks Intense Lip Therepy Lip Balm and Body Shops Hemp Hand Protector.
Hair wise, American Crew is a fail safe. The shampoo and conditioner is very good and the pot fibers I’ve bought and replaced year after year. They smell really nice and go down a treat at Xmas. Buy it here.
I love male aftershave and usually have a different favorite each year; this year I’m loving Chanel Bleu. It’s manly, its not too heavy or offensive, I think any chappy old or young could pull it off. FIT! Get it here.
Clothes are always tricky unless your buying the the same items year in, year out. What I can tell you is that if your looking for a decent pair of jeans, look no further than Edwin. You prob won’t be able to surprise someone with these, they’d need to try them on. SO, put your Levi’s and Diesels aside, these are your new jeans. GO GET THEM NOW! here. Whilst your stopping off at ASOS, there wash bags are a beaut, I loooove this surf style and it’s a steal at £14.00.
Trainers!! I’m really loving New Balance trainers, yes I know they’ve been around a bit now but I think they still look really nice. The colours go with loads too, my fave are these grey ones, but I also like the burgundy ones too. Check them out here
Merry Male Christmas shopping. Just remember to bob a new lippy in for good measure, makes you feel better!

Autum Haul

Hey Ladies!

Just a few bits and bobs I’ve bought recently…

Sally Hanson: Pumice Rimmel Lasting Finish Pro: Purple Rain

These beauts were from Poundland!!! Check it out as I believe people have dropped on Stila!

Maybelline Brow Drama: Dark Blonde

Maybelline Brow Drama in Dark Blonde; £4.99 at Boots… There’s buy one, get on half price at the mo, so I also bought L’oreal Color Tattoo in Permanent Taupe.

The latter is great, does exactly what you expect and lives up to the hype! This one is matte and stays all day with no dreaded crease line! I love this colour too, very wearable…

But I’m sorry brow drama… I’m disappointed; it says it has a no streak, no clump formula, yes it may, but the product application is inconsistent, leaving you with patchy eyebrows. I think you may as well use something like Brow Beater by HD Brows which is more or less a clear mascara…

Maybelline EyeStudio Color Tatto 24hr Cream Gel Eyeshadow

The beautiful Two Sided Soft Scarf by Zara,  well more blanket then scarf…

Its dog tooth on one side and tartan on the reverse; it’s very oversized, which I love (minus the neck ache) and extremely comfy. I can’t wait to wear this over the chilly months! It costs £19.99 but well worth it.

H&M Biker Jacket was a steal at £34.99 and there doing a £5.00 off voucher when you buy in store. I’ve been looking for a jacket for this in between weather and I’d seen something similar in Topshop for like 80 quid, so when I saw this it ticked all the boxes. It has a detachable fur cover which, I think looks a bit cheap and nasty so I took it off. Check it out online here.

Dr Jart+ Premium Beauty Balm

I think I’ve blogged about this before; this arrived in my Glossy Box a few months ago and since I’ve been addicted. I use it for work instead of foundation; as I hate looking too dolled up, especially for work, therefore a great happy medium.  At the minute there is a 1/3 off at Boots. It says it’s suitable for 30+ but I don’t think it matters, its packed with the good stuff, its spf40 and I.LOVE.IT.

Primark Brush Holder

Primmie brush holder; I think this was about £3.00?! Not sure, I was unsure when I bought it, I think it was the black and gold combo but, I took a chance and intend to use it for travelling.  I also bought some midi rings for a pound…

[caption id="" align="alignnone" width="1536"]20130919-234337.jpg L’Oreal Hair Expertise EverRiche Nourishing & Taming Shampoo and Aussie 3 Minute Miracle Shine Conditioner

Last, but not least, I succumbed to Boots 3 for 2 deal and purchased these.

I’d heard a few raves on various blogs about the EverRiche range and being a hair snob sticking to either Joico or Sebastian. I was sceptical.  I’ve not properly used them yet to give an honest review, but I know L’Oreal own Kerastase so hoepfully it’ll compare. I did used to use the pink Elvive and loved it, until someone told me it put a plastic like coating on your hair so that you thought it felt health but really it was’nt 😦 … sad times…

Oh Hello Autumn: Think Pink!

Another big trend for Autumn is PINK!

I love pink in all girly honesty, so I’m looking forward to purchasing a few pieces…

Think Pink this Autumn

Topshop red shirt

Topshop t shirt

Topshop top

Holiday Hair Up!

So you’ve packed your straighteners, tongs and hair dryers? Then you get there and end up tying your hair up all holiday, yep, that’s me. Although I’m very partial to the ol’ holiday topknot and pony tail, I sometimes try and mix it up…

First, the messy pony plait…

Split your hair into three, top, middle, bottom and then tie into ponytails. Then begin to plait the top pony, incorporating all three into one plait. Then, begin to prise the plait, creating texture by rubbing the hair between your fingers. Finally when your happy, bobby pin into place…

Heidi Hi? Yep that’s me, sooo this was pretty easy too…

You split my hair into two pig tails then plait. Then you cross over both plaits to form a crown and bobby pin into place. To make it less Heidi hi and more Nicole Richie, you can either use a sea salt spray or/and again prise the hair out and rub between your fingers…

Have a go!! Also, if you haven’t already, check out my wedding hair post if your feeling a little more adventurous!

Ready for Festival Season?

Ready for Festival Season?
Check shirt / ASOS , / Topshop distressed high waisted shorts / American Apparel / Jeffrey Campbell platform booties / Hunter black buckle boots, / River Island short boots, / Zip bag, / Choker jewelry, / Topshop leaf necklace / Rock ‘N Rose head wrap headband, / ASOS / Forever 21 oversized round sunglasses / Forever 21 buckle belt / Hair styling tool / TOPSHOP Premium Box Spike Collar

So ladies, being as observant as I am, mmmaybe slightly nose-y… I spotted these looks at Parklife festival.

Lots of two buns, grungey 90’s looks with circular sunglasses, chunky necklaces, cropped tops, VERY short denim hotpants!! Bindis and head jewellery, huge floral head bands, lana del rayesk!
A lot of very well thought out fashion, hair and make-up looks. I saw a few girls with purple/black lips, I don’t think I could pull it off, but it did however suit them, try it maybe?! Orrr maybe not!
What ever you try, I hope this has given you some inspiration or if your like me, a generally nose-y insight .

Suits You!

So I attended a Wedding as you know with my boyfriend last weekend…

The weeks prior we’d dragged ourselves around Leeds City Centre and managed to buy a full suit with tie pin, KG brogues and a vintage wool tie for £150!! I don’t know who was more pleased!

We’d had a look through Tumblr, Pinterest and GQ Magazine for some idea’s and went shopping with enthusiasm to find the high street uninspiring. We’d traipsed around all the well know shops, Zara, Topman, Next, TkMaxx, the list goes on, and found nothing but ill fitted, poor quality suits. I don’t know whether they make suit s for a pencil shaped man and surely the high are moving away from this ‘one shape fits all’ attitude towards menswear?! I did see a few ‘skinny’ fit or ‘slim cut’ or ‘short’ leg labels., but not enough!

Anyway rant over because we did find a little treat at Next Clearance. Amongst the shed load of clothes and NO changing rooms!! We managed to pick up a fabulous pick and mix suit for £75.00.

I think the key elements to finding a quality, well fitted and stylish suit on the high street is to prepare for a rummage. There are decent cut suits out there but generation male is not one shape, therefore plan for a lot of trying on.

Take inspiration from the net, have a browse on Pinterest and Tumblr, I particularly fell in love with Nickelson Wooster’s style, and of course Beckham, he never gets a suit wrong 😉

I’m particularly loving:

Pocket square; but not too matchy matchy to the tie/bow.

Tie pin, we picked one up pretty cheap at Next., and of course a….

Crisp white shirt, a pair of Ray bans and a chunky soled brogue… yes please.

Wedding Times

Had a lovely time at a Wedding at the weekend!

I love an excuse to plan what I’m wearing, how I’ll do my hair, what colour I’ll paint my nails… I think, actually, I know I enjoy that more than the actual weddings, nights out etc!!

Anyways I thought I thought I’d post a few pics that were captured…

My dress was borrowed from a friend but its from Aqua. My bag is Zara, heels are Kurt Geiger and necklace is H&M!

My lovely friend Victoria is wearing a Maxi from Ted Baker, heels and bag from Zara…
